A day at the Brea Mall

Hi!  This is daddy summarizing today's activities.   We all had a fun day together today.  It all started with you smiling in the morning at us before we headed out to take on the day. Today's BIG event was round #2 for the pictures.  Before we made it to our 10 AM photo session, we had a quick layover at Coffee Bean.  Missy and I hadn't been there since before you were born so it was very cool to be able to swing by and grab a quick shot of caffine!  Mommy had decaf :)  So afterwards, we finally made it to our photo session (early actually).  While we waited for them to open, mommy was feeding you so you would be nice and full this time.  So sure enough...with a full belly, everything went well today with the photos and I was so proud of YOU!  You did all the poses like a pro!  What a handsome little dude!  After the photo session, we went over the food court and had a quick bite because mommy and daddy hadn't eaten all day.  After our lunch, we then headed back home and enjoyed the rest of the day with our handsome boy!  All of us eventually pooped-out and took a nap around 1PM or so.  It's probably because we woke up at 7:30 which is very early for us these days.  Mommy went to the store to grab some food for the week and the boyz where chill'in together for a little while.  Later on, Nani and Papa came over to check you out and to see their precious little baby.  They missed you and didn't get a chance to see you for a few days.  Grandma and Grandpa called today too and wanted to get together this Friday. They already miss you so much.

So that's it for today!  Mommy and Daddy love you son!

Sunday, January 28, 2006 Your first restaurant

Today Grandma and Grandpa came over to visit you and take you, mommy and daddy to dinner.  The last time grandma held you, you cried, so before they came we had a little talk with you telling you not to cry in grandma's arms.  Unfortunately, you didn't listen (I hope this isn't a preview of what is to come when you get older) and you cried when grandma held you.  So next time we'll talk a little louder and prep you a little more:)  You went on your first outing to a restaurant.  Grandma and grandpa took us to Lonestar for some steak (and chicken).  You slept throught the entire dinner, even when the music got loud and the waiters danced in the aisles.  All the waitresses just wanted to stare at you saying how cute you were.  By the time we got home you were hungry!  So we quickly gave you a bath (which you cried through because you were so hungry) and then you ate!  After your dinner you fell fast asleep.  Tomorrow is take 2 for your pictures.  Mommy and daddy are praying that you are more cooperative this time.  We'll see how you do!  Always remember mommy and daddy love you!

Saturday, January 27, 2006

Sorry we missed writing about yesterday.  Mommy wasn't feeling too well today so most of the day (when you weren't eating) you spent with daddy in his office.  You and daddy love spending time together.  I have a feeling you two will have a lot of male bonding time:)  Poor mommy, the only girl in the house.  You two are a lot a like (look wise and with the noises that you two make, but we won't mention what kind of noises they are here:) ).

Today Joyce and Jesus came to visit you. You were only able to spend a little bit of time with them because you got hungry and had to excuse yourself to eat.  After they left you and dad took a nap on the rocking chair so mom had some time to get some stuff done!

You are getting bigger every day and we cherish every moment with you.  Mommy and daddy love you!

Thursday, January 25, 2007 Happy 1 month birthday

Well Jacob, today you are one month old.  Your mommy and daddy went to take you to get your pictures taken, but you didn't want the photographer to snap that handsome smile of yours.  As soon as we put you down to begin, you started crying.  You had just woken up from the car ride and it was somewhat near your feeding time (well about an hour from you normal time, but oh well).  So mommy fed you for a little bit and then the photographer said we only had two minutes to get you ready otherwise they were going to cancel your appointment.  Mean lady, but just as she said that you stopped eating, so we tried again...but it wasn't the right day.  We tried putting the pacifier in your mouth and then pulling it out right before the picture, but we were only able to get a couple of shots that way.  Needless to say mommy and daddy were a little frustrated and didn't want you to cry anymore, so we just rescheduled you photo shoot for another day.  The rest of the day, you cried and cried and cried.  Nothing we did seemed to make you feel better.  Mommy thought maybe you were hungry and tried feeding you several times, most of which you just suckled not really getting any milk.  Oh well, I guess that's all just part of being a baby.

Yesterday you had a good day.  You were up most of the day, only falling asleep when we were in the car.  Nani came over and helped mommy give you a bath...don't tell Nani, but daddy is a much better helper during bath time (but it was Nani's first time helping).  You slept really well after being up all day and then having a nice warm bath.

Mommy and daddy wish you a happy one month birthday.  We can't believe you are already a month old.  It's gone by so fast, yet it also seems like you've been here forever.  Always remember, mommy and daddy love you!

Having loads of fun

This is daddy here... Just having loads of fun with you son!  Yesterday was the day that I changed your BIGGEST diaper!  I must have used about 10 wipes on you.  It was all over the place (even on me too).  This morning, you did another one on me but that's OK... I've got this diaper thing dialed-in now!

You look so handsome and seem to be changing everyday.  I weighed you the other day and I estimate you to be in the 9 lbs range now. I'm so proud of you!

Mommy and Daddy love you!

Tuesday, January 23, 2006 another lazy day

Well Jacob, today was another uneventful day in the Roberts house.  Nothing much went on.  This evening you fell aslee on daddy's chest and mommy just stared at you for a long time looking at how beautiful, okay handsome you are.  You have so many cute faces when you sleep and boy are you loud.  If you aren't breathing heavy, there are some strange noises coming out of your mouth (and I might add, the other end too!).  Right now I just fed you and daddy is holding you.  He is rocking you to sleep tonight, but you just let out a cry.  I hope he's not rocking you too hard:).  We love you and can't wait to see what wonderful things are in store for you.  So, until next time...mommy and daddy love you!

Monday, January 22, 2007

Today was a lazy day for all of us. You were up for most of the day which was fun for mom and dad. We got to play with you a lot. Daddy had you on the computer trying to teach you how to program already. Don't let him force that geeky computer stuff on you:). I know he won't but he thought it would be funny to take a picture of you looking like you were working on the computer. You had a couple of firsts today. Mommy and daddy layed you on your gym mat for the first time today. You like it on your back, looking at the animals hanging above you. You especially like the elephant and the monkey. But then mommy turned you on your belly for some tummy time and you did not like that at all. That's okay, you'll get used to it the more we play with that.

Mommy was finally able to pump enough milk for you for one feeding. Since mommy and daddy are going to a basketball game in a couple of weeks we need to get you used to feeding from a bottle, so today for the first time, daddy was able to feed you. I think he like it a lot. You ate 4 ounces of milk and we weren't quite sure if that was enough for you, but you seemed to be content with that. Daddy was really excited to be able to feed and burp you. You sure did a loud burp after eating from the bottle. Lately you smile after you finish eating. It is the cutest thing ever. Daddy got to see your smile today after he fed you. You also got a bath today. You LOVED it. You are really enjoying your baths more and more.
Until next time...mommy and daddy love you!

Sunday, January 21, 2007

Today was the first time you went to Nani's house. She had the family over for dinner. So you got to meet your cousins Corty, Taylor, and Dylan. Last night was the first time you were in your swing. You LOVED it. Fell right to sleep. This morning mommy put you in it and you just stared at the birdies flying around on the mobile. I think we are all going to really love that swing.

Until next time...mommy and daddy love you!

Saturday, January 20, 2007

Today Jacob had a busy day. After a coupld of feedings we went on a trip to Babies R Us to get you your swing. We haven't put you in it yet because we forgot to get batteries, but hopefully tomorrow we will get some and see if you like your swing. Then we came home, you ate some more and then we were off again. We went to get mommy and daddy's rings cleaned and to buy your dad some sunglasses since he lost his at the UCLA/USC football game in the beginning of December. You slept most of the day. This morning when you were awake you spent time with daddy. Mommy has no idea what was going on with you two because she was snoring away in bed:) Daddy won't say what you two did together! This evening you were awake for about an hour. Mommy was with you talking to you and showing you all your body parts. Right now you are asleep in daddy's arms and as soon as you wake up you get to get a bath. You love your baths and mommy and daddy like them because you always sleep better after a bath! So until our next entry. Mommy and Daddy love you!

Friday, January 19, 2007

Today you are 25 days old! I can't believe you've been in our lives for over three weeks. I can't imagine life without you now. It seems like you've been in our lives forever! Your daddy and I love you so much and have learned so much about you already! The day you were born was the best day of both of our lives. You were 3 weeks early so we weren't expecting you that day and were surprised when my water broke. I wasn't sure what was going on. When you were born all of your family was there to welcome you into the world. But not before your daddy and I were able to bond with you for about an hour. In the past three weeks, we have bonded even more with you. For the first 2 weeks of your life you made us laugh when you gave us your "popeye" face. Everytime you are hungry and mommy is about to feed you, you make a "hehehehe" noise that makes mommy laugh. We love when you make all your faces when you are just waking up or just after you've eaten. You are such a good baby. The only time you cry is when you are getting your diaper changed and when you took a sponge bath. Then on Tuesday we gave you a bath in the baby tub and you really liked it. Your back was always touching the warm water and you just kicked back and enjoyed the bath. You seem to sleep better when you have taken a bath, so daddy and I are tempted to give you a bath every night, but we don't want to dry out your skin too much. Everytime we've given you a bath and we wrap you up in the towel, you "shart" in the towel. There is only a little spot of poop, but it makes us laugh. Sometimes when you change your diaper, there is only a little bit of poopy, so we know you shart all the time:) When you do poopoo you make really loud noises from your bottom. Your papa laughs really hard when he hears you poop. It makes all of us laugh. The other day mommy was changing you on the bed and you shot out some poopoo right onto mommy's legs. You made me laugh out loud but there was no one there to share the experience with. Nani and Papa vist almost every other day. They miss you a lot when they don't see you. Grandma and Grandpa can't visit that often, but they call to see how their baby grandson is doing all the time. All your grandparents love you so much! Everyone loves you!
Today we tried taking a walk to Starbucks, but we left at the wrong time and you cried the whole time in the stroller so we got to the corner and turned around. You are extra hungry today. You at more than every 2 hours today, but last night you went 5 hours in between feedings, and you would have probably gone longer, but mommy woke up at 3 am and realized she needed to feed you. Today mommy left you for the first time. I went to Albertsons to buy food for mommy and daddy. I was gone for an hour and left you alone with daddy. When I got home, you and daddy were in the same position as when I left you. I missed you so much when I was gone!
