lots of catching up

So it's been a while since our last post.  Jacob is loving the walking thing.  He rarely crawls now and likes to walk around the island in the kitchen several times.  Last Friday daddy put up the christmas lights outside.  Jacob tried to help as much as he could.  In the process he fell on the driveway and scraped up his nose :(  Poor baby.  He screamed, of course, but there was only a time drop of blood coming out of the top right of his nose.  it wasn't until a few days later that it scabbed up and looked terrible...so much for taking Christmas pictures this week.  Hopefully by next week the scab will be gone and we can get some good pictures.  Later that afternoon the three of us went to the park.  Jacob went down the little slide all by himself and he loved it.  Then he tried climbing up the slide, which went unsuccessful.  when we got home Jacob helped me decorate the Christmas tree.  He got his two ornaments and hung them on the tree.  Luckily he doesn't like the way the tree feels so he will only stand near it and look at the lights, but he doesn't touch it...woo hoo.  He doesn't have access to it most of the time anyway since that part of the house is off limits to Jacob.

Sunday we spent the day walking around the Orange County Swap Meet.  Jacob was a good boy in his stroller.  At one point we did let him out of the stroller and he began to push the stroller up the aisle.  When he heard music coming from one of the vendors, he stopped, listened for a few seconds, then started bouncing to the beat.  People walking by stopped to watch him "dance" and were commenting on how cute he was dancing there.  That's Jacob...whenever he hears music he has to dance.  Unfortunately he likes the rap music...he really gets into that one.  Daddy will put on some rap music and Jacob will get down, we just have to make sure he doesn't know what they are saying in the songs.  We try to put music on during the day to let him groove to the beat.  He is so cute when he really gets going...he is bouncing and his arms are moving up and down.

I started a workout class this week and Jacob loves it because we meet at a park, he gets to eat snacks while being pushed around the park and then when my workout is done he gets to play in the park with other kids.  He LOVES it.  He tries to go around the "big" kids and do what they are doing, buy I have to hold him back sometimes...he's just a little to small to be climbing up ladders already.  Anyway, his friend Christian is also there and they get a long so well with eachother.  They try to hold hands when they are in the strollers watching their mommies doing situps and stuff.  They are just too adorable when they make eachother laugh.

Wednesday afternoon Jacob got a flu shot.  Of course he screamed when they gave it to him, but he only cried for a few seconds.  After holding him for less than a minute he saw the toys outside and squirmed to get down so he could go play.  Good thing they have very short term memory.  The next day he spent about 30 minutes at Nani's work while I had a dentist appointment.  When I picked him up my mom told me he felt a little warm.  Sure enough, when we got home, he had a temp of 101.6.  So I gave him some tylenol and he took a 2 1/2 hour nap...when he woke up he was as good as can be.  Strange...I just hope he doesn't get sick.

So this past week his favorite things to do are dance and walk around...that's pretty much it. This weekend we will be busy.  Two birthday parties.  Aiden's birthday is on Saturday and Luke's on Sunday...so I'm sure we will have lots of fun.  So until next time...mommy and daddy love you!

Happy Thanksgiving

Jacob's first Thanksgiving Day was a great day.  It started off wonderful because for the first time Jacob slept through the night last night!  Bill and I woke up at about 6am asking each other if either one of us got up with Jacob during the night.  To our amazement we had not!  He actgually slept until 7am without a peep all night!  Oh my goodness...let's hope this becomes the norm.

We went to have Thanksgiving dinner at Nani and Papa's house.  Grandma and Grandpa were there too and saw Jacob walking for the first time.  Grandma just could not believe that Jacob was already walking, I think she was in a bit of shock when he came out walking to her.  We had dinner with Nani, Papa, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle RJ (Auntie Sonnia had to work), Grand Nina, Vanessa and Anissa (Phil and PJ had to stay home because PJ was not feeling well).  Jacob had a first today...he was taking a picture with his daddy and Grandma and then out of nowhere he started clapping.  Then we all got excited and he started to clap some more...he was so adorable.  Gosh, he is just on a roll this week with doing new things.  At dinner (which was a little later than expected because the turkey took a little longer to cook), Jacob grubbed on turkey, mashed potatoes, greenbeans and stuffing.  He LOVED the turkey.  He was making his mmmmm noises when eating.  when he got some green beans on his plate, he decided to share some of his veggies with Harley, who was waiting right underneath Jacob's chair.  That dog is smart...he knows that Jacob drops a lot of his food on the floor and he was right there to eat it up...what Harley didn't know was that Jacob would actually give him some food.

So Jacob had a great time walking all over the house showing off to everyone.  When some music came on he showed off his dancing moves by bouncing up at down to the beat...I must say, the kid has some rythmn.  He also made sure to show off his 6 teeth to everyone.  He now has his two front teeth, one on the top left and one on the bottom left.  He is looking so different now with his two front teeth.  One of them is about half way through and the other about 3/4 of the way through, but they look so big in his little mouth.  It seems like he is changing every day!

We had a wonderful day and are so thankful for our families and all of our health.  This year was a wonderful year full of many blessings.  We could not ask for anything more.  We are obviously most thankful for our beautiful baby, Jacob.  He has been such a blessing in our lives.  I don't know what we did before having him.  Life seems so much fuller now because of him.  We thank God for our healthy and happy little boy.  So until next time...mommy and daddy love you!

First Parade

This afternoon mommy, daddy and Jacob went to Disneyland to watch Cousin Whitney march in the parade.  Her band marched down mainstreet and she was leading the pack as the assistant drum major.  She looked so cute and Jacob was fascinated with the band.  We stayed sitting a little longer until the Christmas Parade came by.  I was a little worried that Jacob would get grouchy.  He really didn't nap the whole time we were at Disneyland and the parade didn't start until 6:30...but he was totally into watching the parade.  There were some cheerios in his stroller tray (which he LOVES) and he completely stopped eating them when the parade came by.  As soon as the parade was over, he immediatley dove into his left over cheerios.  So I'm going to take a wild guess and say that he LOVED the parade.  Before the parade we went to California Adventure.  I took Jacob on the catepillar ride (I have no idea what the name of that ride is).  Anyway, now that he's a big boy and can walk, I let him walk through the line.  Well, he tried, but most of the time he tried walking in the wrong direction.  He was walking toward the entrance of the line instead of toward the ride.  I think the problem was that there was a cute little girl behind us, and of course, he's Jacob and he wanted to see the little girl more!  We finally made it to the front and he really liked the ride.  Later in Toon Town, I let him roam around a little playground they have there.  He was so excited to be moving around on two feet and tried walking up to other kids his size.  It was so cute to watch him go for it.  As I stood there watching him, I couldn't believe that was my little baby already walking.  It made me a little sad to know that he is growing up, but then I was also excited to see him growing up.  I guess I have mixed emotions about him starting to walk.  Anyway, he had a blast in the playground there.  I had never realized that was there..it's amazing what you discover trying to find something for a toddler to do at Disneyland besides waiting in line.  It was pretty crowded today so I really didn't want to wait in the long lines with him.  The playground was a great alternative to riding on the rides.

so we had a great day today.  Tomorrow is Thanksgiving.  We will be going to Nani and Papa's house.  Grandma and Grandpa will also be there, so we are excited to be with our families on Thanksgiving.  So until next time...mommy and daddy love you!
