2 month check up

Posted By: Melissa 0 Comments

Jacob was two months old on Sunday.  Today he had his two month check up.  He weighed in at 11 lbs 6 oz. and was 23 inches long.  He had to get his immunization shots too.  5 shots and one immunization he had to swallow.  The nurse was very good.  She started with the oral immunization.  Jacob did not like the taste of it, but he ate the whole thing!  He was a good boy...he only pouted after tasting it...fortunately he didn't spit it out like the some other babies, according to the nurse.  Then mommy and daddy talked to Jacob as the nurse poked him twice in the left leg and three times in the right leg.  When he felt the first prick he had a delayed reaction and let out a big cry, then as the other shots went in he scrunched up his face and didn't breathe for about 5 seconds, when it was all over he let out one big cry.  Then mommy picked him up and he was perfectly fine.  He did a good job with those shots...mommy and daddy were expecting something worse.

Doctor Gladstein said he is doing well and is in the 50th percentile for his height and weight.  I guess that's just where he should be!

Yesterday was Nani's actual birthday so Jacob and mommy took Nani flowers and a balloon to her work and then went to lunch with her.  Nani was so surprised to see us and she was very happy.  She had a great Birthday with Jacob!

so until next time...Mommy and Daddy love you!

Nani's Birthday Celebration

Hi....This is daddy here posting today's events.

Today we had a great day sleeping in and getting ready for Nani's Birthday.  Mommy and I took you to Marie Callendar's to go and get a pie for Nani in the morning but they (to our amazement) were closed in the morning.  So we ended up going back home and tried going back later.  We eventually went back and they were obviously open by then.  So we got Nani a Boysenberry pie...yum yum yum...!

So we brought the pie over to Nani's house and waited until we were all ready to go to Romano's Macaroni Grill.  Your Uncle RJ, Auntie Sonnia, Papa, Nani, Mommy and Daddy all went to go celebrate her birthday there!  When we got there, we all ordered and couldn't wait to eat our delicious dinner together.  You were sleeping the entire time there until a lady working there came over to sing Happy Birthday in Italiano to Nani.  She was so loud and it sounded so beautiful!   You loved it so much that you woke up for it and Nani was able to see your beautiful eyes.

After we left Romano's Macaroni Grill, we went back to Nani's house and had dessert.  Nani opened our gift we got her and she loved it!  We also had the warm boysenberry pie (that we bought earlier) and Vanilla Ice Cream.  Yummy for my tummy!!!  Your mommy liked it too!

So that's really about it right now.  Mommy and Daddy love you soooo much and can't wait to take you to church again tomorrow.  We love you son!

Meeting new friends

Jacob was able to meet more friends this week.  Mommy's work had this week off so some of her friends from work came to visit Jacob.  On Tuesday, Adrianna and Courtney came to meet Jacob for the first time.  They brought some flowers for Jacob (and mommy).  Of course he was asleep when they got here.  Jacob and the three girls went to lunch and Jacob was a good boy.  Mommy had a good time talking to her friends from work.  She hadn't seen them since her last day at work (over 2 months!).

Then on Thursday Jacob met his first girlfriend, Alyssa who is 2 1/2 (he likes older women) and her mommy Auntie Melinda.  Jacob had fun playing with Alyssa in his gym.  She and Jacob played with the elephant, monkey and giraffe.  They were so cute together.

Jacob is a lot more attentive lately, smiling in response to things a lot more.  He likes the monkey and elephant from his gym.  He likes getting kisses from them.  He also smiles when daddy and mommy kiss him on the nose.  On Thursday when daddy was getting ready for work he picked up Jacob and was talking to him for a bit.  It brought a huge smile to mommy's face when she saw Jacob with a huge smile on his face just looking at his daddy.  It was the cutest thing I've ever seen.  I wish I had a camera right then, it was definitely a Kodac moment, but that picture will last in my memory forever.

Mommy and Daddy love you!
