Trick or Treating with Mickey and Friends

This evening we went to California Adventure to Trick or Treat with a few of Jacob's friends, 6 to be exact.  We had a GREAT time and are all pooped out after a fun evening.  Jacob dressed as Buzz Lightyear and took his pumpking to all the "treat" spots to fill up on some good stuff including apple slices, raisins and of course, CANDY (which fortunately, he has no clue how good the stuff is!).  He was just excited to see the person putting stuff in his pumpkin.

Jacob was wandering around, when all of a sudden Mickey and Minnie walked by.  He RAN so fast to try to catch up to them.  They walked down some stairs and I seriously have never seen Jacob go down stairs faster in his life.  He was so cute.  So of course we waited in line to take a picture with them.  He had fun running around with his friend as daddy waited in line.  I was wondering what he was going to do when he actually got up there with them.  The last time we tried taking a picture with a character, he got up to them and then started crying.  So I tried prepping him saying he was going to give Mickey a high five and give Minnie a big hug.  Well, I don't think any prepping was necessary.  When it was his turn he RAN right up to them and gave Minnie a big hug and then gave Mickey a high five.  Minnie continued to hug him as we took a picture of the three of them.  Then mommy and daddy got in the picture too.  Jacob was such a good boy.

We continued on and rode the carousel and then made our way over to another area where there was lots of music.  We stopped to "bounce around" and then Pluto appeared followed by Daisy Duck.  Jacob was so excited.  Daisy gave him and his friends BIG LONG hugs.  Jacob danced with Pluto and Clarabell Cow and then followed Daisy in a conga line.  It was so cute to see the kids dancing around with some of their favorite characters and friends.  Jacob had a BLAST.  After the dancing we made our way over to take a picture with Handy Manny and Quincy and June from Little Einsteins, one of Jacob's favorite shows.

Lastly we took a picture with Belle and Pocohantas.  Jacob gave each of them a BIG hug.  I think he liked them, as he should, they are both very pretty princesses.

We all had a wonderful time.  He was so cute dressed up in his Buzz Lightyear costume and got LOTS of candy.  Fortunately, Daddy is going into work tomorrow, so his employees will have lots of candy to eat :)

so until next time...mommy and daddy love you!

Great Weekend

We had a full weekend.  Jacob spent Saturday with Nani and Papa because we went to the UCLA vs. Stanford game.  What a great game.  Too bad we had to leave early to attend Cousin Chris' 18th birthday party.  While at the game the guy sitting behind Bill got sick twice. The first time he threw up all over Chip and the second time he got a little on Bill.  Needless to say that is GROSS!  Both guys had to go buy new t-shirts.

After the game, Bill and I went to Chris' party.  We had a great time spending time with family even though we didn't take our baby boy.  He spend the night with Nani and Papa and apparently had a great time with them.  Papa took him to his little gym class and said they both had a great time.

Sunday we took Jacob to Irvine Park.  He LOVED the train.  The whole time on the train he was pointing to everything we passed.  He really enjoyed passing the pond full of ducks.  He must have said "duck" over 20 times.  After the train ride we waited in line to ride the pony.  Jacob was such a good boy waiting in line even though it was close to his nap time.  He had a great time riding his pony, Aspen.  He like petting too.  He looked like such a big boy riding that pony.  Of course, we took TONS of pictures.  After the pony ride we walked around the pumpkin patch.  Jacob's favorite part was putting his head through the holes to take a picture of him as something else.  (See picture for better explanation).  We spent about 5 minutes at the piggy picture but were unable to take a picture there because our dumb camera wasn't working there.  Anyway, he loved pointing to all the pumpkins and walked through the haystack maze.

Later that afternoon we went to the Gunnin's to celebrate Andrew's 15th birthday. Jacob enjoyed playing with Andrew's old Lincoln logs.  I think he spent the whole party playing in the living room.

We had a great weekend!

Jacob's naps have been getting later and later.  He used to go down at about 11:30 and lately, I've been putting him in his crib at about 12 or so and he will not fall asleep.  He plays and plays and plays in there.  Today he didn't end up falling asleep until 1:10.  I think I'm going to have to put him down a little later from now on which may work out better for us since he can eat lunch before going down for his nap and then maybe he will be hungry for din din.

alright, that's all for now.  So until next time...mommy and daddy love you!

Busy couple of days

Tuesday was mommy's birthday.  We started the day with breakfast and then we went to Jacob's Little Gym class with daddy, who took the day off to spend with mommy.  After Little Gym we went to get a smoothie with mommy's friends.  Later in the evening Nani and Papa came over for dinner. We ordered Panera and ate at home.  Jacob was couging a lot and I didn't want to take him out.  Everyone sang happy birthday to me and Jacob helped me blow out the candle. He did a great job and blew out the candle all by himself.

Yesterday, our stroller strides group went to Amy's Farm in Chino.  It was really hot and stinky there (I guess it would be stinky since it is a farm).  Jacob got to chase roosters, pet a big cow, horses and goats, feed the piggies and give milk from a bottle to the baby cows.  I think he really liked doing that.  The kids really enjoyed it, but the moms were done after about 10 minutes.  It was just too hot and there was virtually no shade there.  We were hoping for a nice fall day, instead we got a hot summer day in the middle of October.  Go figure.

Later that night we went to the Duck's Hockey game with Malaya's family.  Her daddy got seats in a suite so the kids got to run around during the game.  We had lots of fun and Jacob did too.  He liked watcing the blimp fly around the arena and enjoyed watching the players skate around.  He got to eat pizza and popcorn, which he loved.  His favorite part of the evening was taking a picture with one of the cheerleaders.  When she left, he was looking for her and turned to us and asked where she went.  He was in LOVE!  She was later shown on the jumbo tron and we pointed her out to him and he got excited and again started looking for her.  I guess Malaya wasn't good enough for him after taking a picture with the older woman :)

Today we are just going to relax at home.  He's still coughing a little bit and really hasn't gotten a break. So today will be his low-key day.

so until next time...mommy and daddy love you!

Daddy's new bike

Yesterday Bill picked his new motorcycle.  Jacob and I went with him to the Harley shop to pick it up.  Jacob was excited to see daddy's new "kycle" and daddy let him sit on it.  I could tell Bill was really excited to finally get it.  Jacob and I followed him home and even though we were behind him, we saw the smile on his face as he was riding (even though he was trying to look tough).

Today Bill went with Papa on a ride to Palm Springs, so Jacob and I are home alone for the day.  We started today off with the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while Jacob sat in bed with me drinking his milk.  Then we got ready, had our breakfast (scrambled egg and veggie booty for Jacob because he HAD TO HAVE VEGGIE BOOTY), and then we were off to Little Gym.  Jacob was such a good boy there.  Mr. Charlie (the instructor today) was so proud of Jacob.  After Little Gym Jacob got his stamps, put on his shoes and we were off to the Fire Station for their yearly open house.  When we drove by Jacob got very excited to see the Fire Truck and Police Car out in front.  He walked all around the Fire Station looking at the trucks and cars and got to sit in the back of the Fire Truck and "drive" the police car.  He got a fire hat, football, frisbee and even had a snow cone.  The snow cone was a snow cone hold the syrup, so basically he had ice, but he was thoroughly enjoying it until he dropped it inside the Police Car!  Fortunately, it was just ice.  He even got to pet the rescue dog and two different snakes.  He really liked petting the snake but didn't like it when the handler showed Jacob the head of the snake.  He backed away from it quickly...at least he's smart!  Then we sat and watched the firemen demonstrate how they would get someone out from underneath a tipped car.  They busted out the windshield, used the "jaws of life" and lifted the truck so they could get the person out.  It was pretty cool to watch.  What was even better was the Jacob was still through the entire demonstration that lasted a good 10-15 minutes.  I couldn't believe it. He must have been tired or something.

After our adventures at the Fire Station we went to Chick-fil-A for some lunch.  Jacob was such a good boy.  He ate all his nuggest and most of his fruit, all while sitting like a good boy in his chair.  While he ate, the Chick-fil-A Cow kept coming up to Jacob and giving him high fives.  Jacob loved that.  He even tried to share his fruit with the cow, but the made the motion that he was already full, too cute! Then he got to play in the play area and when I told him it was time to go, he came up to me and we left, no crying or screaming or anything.  Again, I couldn't believe how good he was.  So now we are home and he is down for his nap (with no crying when he was put in his crib).  I am sitting here wondering who took my child and replaced him with a look-a-like good kid.  I am praying that this is the new and improved Jacob.  We'll see!  No matter what I LOVE him!

Daddy will be home in the early evening and I can't wait to tell him about our day.  I wonder what we will do when he wakes up from his nap?

so until next time...mommy and daddy love you!
