One month old and some other stuff :)
Saturday, October 17 Braden went to his first birthday party and slept through the whole thing :) We all got invited to Jacob's friend, Christian's 3rd birthday party. Jacob had a blast with all his friends jumping in the bouncer and rough housing with them. It was kind of cute to see all the boys playing together. Braden was fast asleep in his carseat under the table :)
Earlier that morning we tried going to Irvine Park, but there was something else going on there and we couldn't even get in to park. We turned around and went to our local park so Jacob could let out some energy. Nani and Papa were with us and Jacob had fun riding his motorcycle around the park. later that night Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Alana came over to visit and watch the Angel game. This was the first time Auntie Alana met Braden. Of course he was asleep most of the time, but I think Auntie Alana had a good time holding Braden and she took LOTS of pictures of him.
Sunday we went to Uncle RJ and Auntie Sonnia's house for a family dinner. He was a good boy while being passed around. Auntie Sonnia got to feed Braden and she did a good job. I don't even think she got spit up on. Now we just have to get her and Uncle to change a diaper :)
Monday morning Braden woke up with a lot of redness around his baby acne. I called the dr. to make an appointment for him. Of course when we arrived he had no redness. But I took advantage of the visit to ask the dr. about Braden's spitting up (practically vomit) and to ask about his belly button. Apparently the amount of him spitting up is completely normal. The Dr. put some silver nitrate on his belly button to dry it up and it seems to have done the job. Jacob was such a good boy during the doctor visit. He was quiet the entire time and made sure to remind me of that when the doctor left the room for a second. Jacob said to me "I not say anything mommy" So cute. I told him not to say anything and to keep quiet when the doctor was in the room so that I could hear what the doctor had to say. Jacob was sucha good big boy. He got a Mickey Halloween sticker on the way out and was loving it.
On Tuesday Braden turned one month old. We tried getting pictures taken of him, but like his big brother, he started crying when we put him down to have his picture taken. Rather than push it, we just rescheduled for another time. After our session we made our way to Jacob's My Gym class. This is really my first test in taking both boys out by myself and getting back into our normal routine. Braden slept the entire time and Jacob had fun, as usual, in his class and was a good boy. On Wednesday we were really adventurous. We went to the park in the morning where Jacob swang, went down the slides, played pumpkin bowling and made a "bat" craft that Ms. Brixie brought along. He had a great time. Braden was a good boy and had his bottle at the park with no problems. We then made our way back to My Gym for some free play time and another class. I had to feed Braden there again and he was nice enough to release a "load" while we were there. Gosh, I hope he didn't stink up the whole place. Later that night the whole family went to Babies R Us to get Braden some more formula and diapers since we were practically running out of both.
This morning we ventured out again to get me a flu shot, came home to feed the boys and then we had our first experience grocery shopping with two boys. I packed Braden up in the Bjorn and carried him around the store (while he slept) and Jacob was in his favorite blue race car. Both boys were GREAT and it made shopping easy and NOT stressful. I think this two kid thing isn't so bad after all, but then again, Braden doesn't do much yet :)
so until next time...mommy and daddy love you!
