About Jake
Our 4th of July BBQs started on Thursday night. Our friends, Jennifer, Jason and Joseph came over for a BBQ. We had not seen them in a long time and baby Joseph has gotten so big. He's only 10 months and is a good walker. He and Jacob had a great time together and there was no fighting involved. We made sure to talk to Jacob before he started playing with Joseph and told him that he had to be gentle and he was! Good boy! Jacob also ate a very good dinner. He at about 3/4 of his chicken breast (a lot of chicken for him) and about half of his corn on the cob, plus lots of yummy watermelon! We couldn't believe how much he ate!
Thursday we went for our traditional BBQ at the Gunnins. Jacob had a great time swimming with daddy, Papa, Nani and his Uncle RJ and mommy. He really enjoyed walking around in the spa and playing with the torpedo pool toys. Daddy dunked him in the water for the first time. He didn't like it too much, but he was a good sport about it. He ate lots of strawberries and watermelon and tore up some rice and beans too. He really enjoyed riding these little cars they have...(see pic). He also tried playing ping pong with Uncle Dave and Andrew and played catch with Auntie Sonnia. It was definitely a fun long day for him. We tried to stay awake to watch fireworks, but he fell asleep at about 8pm before the fireworks started :( He was sitting on mommy's lap outside and just closed his eyes and fell asleep. He was so tired from all the swimming and playing.
On Saturday morning Jacob and daddy went to have breakfast at Denny's together while mommy was at her weekly meeting. Later in the afternoon we went to Auntie's Sonnia's aunt's house for another swim party and BBQ. Jacob was a good boy there too and had lots of fun playing in a small pool made just for kids his age. The pool was heated and was VERY warm...almost a little too warm, but he had a good time.
After all the partying we just relaxed on Sunday. We went to church in the morning and when we dropped him off at "sunday school" he started crying when we handed him over. Then when we went to pick him up, he was so busy playing and having fun, he didn't want to come with us. The teacher had to chase him down to get him so we could go home. Little stinker! I guess he's having a good time there playing with all his little friends. We just hung out at the house the rest of the day and he played with his train set.
So we had a great weekend just hanging out and having fun. So until next time...mommy and daddy love you!
