Baby on the way

Jacob is going to be a big brother in late September.  We found out last Thursday that it's another BOY!  I know Jacob is going to be a great big brother and it's going to be so cool seeing the boys play together.  Daddy, Jacob, Nani and Papa all came to the ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby.  Jacob looked at the screen and kept saying "baby"  I don't know if he actually could tell that it was a baby we were looking at or if he just knew that mommy kept saying we were going to see the baby in the morning.  Right before the tech asked us if we wanted to know the sex of the baby I turned and asked Jacob if he thought he was going to have a baby brother or a baby sister and he said "brother" and he was right!

We are excited and I have to admit I'm a little nervous about having another little one running around and even more so now that I know it's a boy.  Jacob is so far really good about the baby, of course, the baby is not here yet!  Everynight before he goes to sleep, Jacob kisses and hugs the baby.  Sometimes he even tickles the baby and then he says "God Bless you baby" and "I love you baby"  It is so cute to see.  I can hardly wait until others can feel the little guy kicking and see Jacob's expression when he feels a kick!

In other Jacob news, he's been a bit moody lately.  I don't know if it's because he senses that there are going to be some big changes in the near future of if it's because he's 2!  He's is also doing some really cute things.  He is VERY independent lately and wants to do everything "all by myself".  He gets in and out of the car all by himself now which is going to be a BIG help in the upcoming months.  He also wants to zip up his own jacket and has gotten pretty good at it.  He's asked to sit on the potty a couple of times, but nothing has come out, but at least he's sitting on it.  The goal would be to have him potty trained before the baby comes, but we'll see about that.  He also runs and gets the extra blow dryer whenever daddy is blow drying his hair.  He will hold the blow dryer up to his head and make the sound of the blow dryer.  He is also putting on deoderant (well not really putting it on) when he sees his daddy doing it, or when he sees the deoderant laying around.  That is hysterical to watch.  Jacob is definitely getting more animated now.  When he hears music he likes he starts dancing to it and thinks he's being really funny.

At night he HAS to have his two mickey mouses, a elephant he calls dumbo that I got for him at the zoo and a little beanie baby cow that for some reason he calls "horsie" don't know why he thinks it's a horse and no matter how many times we correct him, he still calls it a horse.

This past weekend he was running around the house with his lawn mower.  I asked him if he wanted to go outside with his daddy and so he took his lawn mower outside and started to "mow" the lawn.  He was doing a good job of staying in straight line and keeping the rows even.  Bill may have some help sooner than he thought :)  Jacob can also drink out of a big boy cup with no lid or straw attached.  He LOVES to drink this way.  I'm not ready for him to drink out of a normal glass all the time, but most of the time he can.  Just not when we're out and about.

We were in Lake Havasu a couple of weekend ago so daddy could ride his motorcycle to Laughlin.  I'll have Bill post his note about that trip.  I think the boys had a good time!

That's it for now, so until next time...mommy and daddy love you!
