Today was HOT, so we decided to take a drive to Newport to walk around.  Nani and Papa came with us.  The plan was to just walk along the bike path for about an hour, have some snacks then come home.  So we packed everything up and headed out.  After a lot of traffic and difficulty finding a parking space, we finally made it to the bike path.  Papa had the stroller and he kept going straight to the water.  Of course, I did not bring Jacob's swim trunks or water diaper because in my head we weren't going into the water...but plans changed.  We ended up taking Jacob into the water to "get his feet wet."  Little did we know that he would LOVE THE WATER and kept wanting to run into the waves.  We really had to keep and eye and hand on him the whole time.  He soon realized how to stomp in the water to make little splashes.  He didn't really know what to feel when he stood in the water and the wave returned to the ocean...a couple of times it almost knocked in over...actually I think it did once and his face got all full of sand, but he loved it.(if you look really close at the picture of him sitting in the sand below you can see the sand on his forehead still!)  We spent quite a bit of time letting him play in the water, of course his shorts got all wet, so we ended up taking them off and let him run around in his diaper, play in the sand, flirt with a little girl and then it was time to go.  He had a blast.  Daddy hosed him off at the showers and then we had snack time as Jacob people watched.  He loved seeing all the bicycles ride by and all the doggies being walked.  It was well past his nap time but he was wide eyed and bushy tailed!  Then we took our walk down the path toward the pier.  Of course we stopped for and ice cream and Jacob got out of the stroller to chase the birds and feed them cheerios.  Then we walked down the pier and back to the car.  About halfway back to the car he FINALLY fell asleep...this was at about 3pm!  The lastest he's ever fallen asleep for a nap!  He had such a great time though.  He was so adorable to watch in the water...running into the waves as much as we would let him.  We got lots of photos and video of the event.  I think he's going to end up being a little surfer...he loved the water.  We all had a great time at the beach and I'm sure we will have to go back often!  Nani and Papa were glad they went to experience Jacob's first time in the water.  I think they had a good time too!

We got home and by then he was already awake from his short nap.  He went immediately into the bathtub to get all the sand off of him and his hair! 

Later Chip and Cooper came over and then daddy took Jacob with them to go look at Harleys.  I'm not sure what exactly happened there, but the jist of it was that they went to go look at the bikes, Jacob looked at and touched all the bikes, and then the four boys went to dinner!  Really, how cute is that, two daddies and two sons out for dinner.  Apparently both little boys did really well the whole time (I'm not so sure about the big boys though :) ).  Jacob actually ate all of his meal.  When my boys got home Jacob was all smiles and daddy told me all about their adventure.  Jacob was so wound up from today that he didn't fall asleep until about 8:45!  CRAZY KID.  Tomorrow has to be a less eventful day for him...maybe just church and then kicking it at home!
