Jacob's 2nd Birthday Party

Yesterday we had Jacob's 2nd Birthday party.  along with family we had several of Jacobs friends join us at our house for some "Cars" fun.  We had a Cars jumper, a parachute that we played ring around the rosie with, a blow up Mater to throw tools at and a license plate making craft.

The jumper arrived about an hour before the party started and Jacob wasted no time getting in.  As soon as it was blown up, Jacob climbed in and started jumping.  He and his Papa also started working on his license plate craft before his friends arrived.  Everyone showed up at 10am for the fun to begin.  At first a lot of the kids were playing with his train table inside, but soon we were all outside jumping in the jumpy house and throwing tools at Mater.  We then got out the parachute and played a few rounds of ring around the rosie.  Jacob loves playing that becasue he loves the "all fall down" part.  He was cracking up and saying "again" after each round.  the Pizza arrived at about 11:30 so everyone sat (or stood) with their pizza, fruit salad and green salad for lunch.  Once everyone was done with lunch, Lightening McQueen "dropped" in pinata form as we pulled the strings to get the candy, lollipops and raisins (yes, mommy added raisins to the pinata).  I did learn from last year that it takes more than just pulling the strings to get the pinata open, so I had to pull at it to allow the candy to fall down.  Once it did all the kids scrambled to get their candy.  I noticed that many of them bypassed the raisins for the good stuff (dum dums and CHOCOLATE).  I guess these kids are a lot smarter than I thought.

After the pinata, it was time to sing Happy Birthday to the birthday boy, Jacob.  I am proud to say that I baked and decorated Jacob's cakes this year and hope to do so in the future.  Jacob was great at blew out the candles all by himself.  many of his friends left after eating cake and ice cream (it was very close to many of their nap times).  Then we opened his gifts (he got some really GOOD stuff...thank you everyone!!!).  After the gifts we enjoyed jumping some more and just hung around chatting with our friends and family who remained.

Later in the afternoon when only family was left,

Jacob went back into the jumper and Nani, grand nina, Auntie Lisa and Mommy all joined Jacob in the bouncer.  It was so much fun and Jacob was laughing the entire time.

Thank you to everyone who came to Jacob's party.  He loved playing with all of his friends and loves and appreciates all the great gifts he received.

We can't wait to party again next year...mommy's already planning that one :) just kidding...

I'll start that next month :)
