About Jake
Wow, we had a busy week, it seems. Monday, Auntie Erin and Aiden came over to play. They met us at the park for our morning workout. After the mommies got their workout in the boys played at the park for about an hour. We thought that they would fall asleep on the way home FOR SURE! Boy were we WRONG! They were both up until about 12:30 and even then Jacob did NOT want to take a nap. We ended up taking him with us to get drive thru lunch and he FINALLY fell asleep in the car on the way home but only slept for 45 minutes, waking up way before Aiden. I guess Jacob did not want to miss the action of the visitors. He was not a happy camper that day, but ended up being better by the late afternoon.
Monday night Jacob did a pretty good job sleeping through the night. He cried a little, but I let him soothe himself back to sleep and it seemed to work fairly well! Tuesday afternoon I took Jacob to Borders with his friend Christian (and Christina). The boys had a GREAT time "reading" all the books in the childrens section, playing with the puppets, and messing up all their CDs and DVDs. I'm sure the employees were glad to see us go! We were good mommies and cleaned up after our boys. We didn't realize it, but we were at the store for well over an hour and a half! Whatever, as long as Jacob had a good time and was happy, so was I!
Tuesday night, Jacob slept through the ENTIRE night without even wimpering! When he woke up at 6, Bill and I looked up at eachother and said "did he really sleep through the entire night?!?!?" He took at nap at about 12 and slept for 2 1/2 hours! I started not to feel well and ended up taking a nap with him. When he finally woke up we were going downstairs to get something to eat, but when we reached the bottom of the stairs we say WATER all throughout the downstairs family room and nook! I picked up Jacob to get a better look and realized that half the water in the fishtank was now on our hardwood floors! I had to interrupt Bill from his meeting so he could take a look. Jacob and I ended up going to get the water vac from my parents while Bill stayed behind to mop up what he could while we were gone. What a mess! To top it all off, by the time we got back to the house I was really not feeling well and realized I had a temperature of almost 102! so Jacob and I stayed upstairs while daddy cleaned up everything...poor daddy! Of all days for Jacob to take a long nap. Oh well, what happens, happens!
Thursday we didn't go to workout because mommy was still a little under the weather, but we did make it out for playtime at the park. Jacob had fun playing with his friends at the park as usual.
Friday after daddy got done with work we went to dinner and then we went to play at the park. Jacob was so excited to go to the park with his daddy. They ran around, swung on the swings, went down the slide and watched a little boy crash on his little car over and over again. Jacob LOVED watching the little boy crash, he belly laughed each time he crashed, so of course the little boy kept doing it to entertain Jacob of course!
This entire week Jacob has been going to bed at around 8pm which is about 30 minutes later than normal. We are fine with it because he has been taking at least 2 hour naps everyday but we were hoping he would sleep in a little later than 6am, but no such luck :( He has pretty much fallen asleep watching some basketball game every night this week...pathethic I know and as the mommy, I should say NO to this, but he is so cute sitting next to his daddy watching the basketball games saying "oh" each time someone makes a basket. It really is exciting for him to watch the games...it's almost as if he actually knows what is going on.
so until next time...mommy and daddy love you!
