About Jake
This past weekend mommy and daddy went to Coronado for the weekend to celebrate our Anniversary. Jacob got to stay with his Nani and Papa. We think he had a blast there. we know for sure that he was WAY off schedule, but that's okay, he was having a good time with his grandparents. I'm sure they were exhausted by the time Sunday afternoon rolled around. Mommy and daddy had a great time, but we sure missed our little guy. We actually left the hotel a little earlier than we expected just so we could see our Jacob even sooner.
Jacob had a little trouble getting back to his normal schedule after the weekend. On Monday night he did not fall asleep until 9:45pm!!!! So Monday and Tuesday we did not go to Stroller Strides because Jake didn't wake up until about 8:30. Finally Tuesday night we decided that he had to get back on a normal schedule. So, we got in the car at about 7:45, went to Golden Spoon to get a yogurt, ate it in the car and then drove around Chino Hills until Jacob fell asleep. He ended up falling asleep at around 8:30 which seems to be his "normal" time lately. It worked. He woke up at 7:30 on Wednesday morning and took his nap at about 11:30, which is normal timing for him. Since then he's been great with his naps and bedtime.
Last night we went to the Concerts in the Park. Nani and Papa were there to meet us along with some of Jacob's friends and their families from the park. Jacob was a MAD MAN going from one blanket to another trying to see what food he could get from them...and yes, mommy and daddy brought him some dinner. Nani and Papa had fun watching him run around EVERYWHERE!
Today at the park he was on the jungle gym and usually he will only go down the "baby" slide by himself. He never ventures off to the bigger slides and he's NEVER gone down the twisty slide by himself. But today, he was on climbing up the stairs to get to the twisty slide, but stopped at the top and then came back down the stairs. Then when he thought I wasn't looking, but of course I was, he got to the top of the stairs, rolled his car down the twisty slide (I guess to make sure it was safe to go down) and then sat down and went down the slide ALL BY HIMSELF. When he got to the bottom of the slide, still sitting up, the look on his face was PRICELESS! He had a huge smile and he had a look of accomplishment! It was adorable, I wish I had my camera.
New words...Jacob finally says PLEASE and THANK YOU! We are so excited about this. He also likes to roar like a lion and make monkey noises whenever he sees those animals in a book. He also has a Lion character from his Noah's Ark set and he plays with it and makes his lion noise. So cute, but I must say his lion's roar is kind of scary sounding. He loves to say his prayers and is learning to close his eyes. He's almost got "amen" down, but it's not quite there yet. Today at lunch he said "corn." He's also getting really good at making an "I'm so sweet" look when he gets caught doing something he's not supposed to be doing. ONe of these days I hope to catch that on camera. Basically, he turns around, gives me a big grin and bats his eyes at me. It makes me want to laugh, even though there is cereal crunched up all over the floor! Got to love him!
so until next time...mommy and daddy love you!
